App to Split Existing Products Into Separate Products By Variant Option

Hello,

Now that the combined listings app has been released, I am looking for an app that will be able to take an existing product that has multiple color variants and split it into multiple products based on the color variant. The app would essentially create a new product for each color variant and copy all of the setup information from the original item into the new products created.

Is anyone aware of such application?

Regards,

Jim

Which app were you using?

B4B variable products

After a while, I found an app that actually does exactly what I want. The app is SEO Variants and its purpose is to create combined listings. The developer just added a feature that will automatically split an item into multiple products based on options your select. It brings in all of the relevant data and images so then all you have to do is delete the images you don’t need anymore. I worked with the developer for a little bit on the actual feature set and they have been very responsive. Overall, this is a great app!

Just adding a note here in case it helps others.

If you’re not looking to actually split variants in the Shopify admin, but simply want to display each variant (like color or size) as a separate product on your collection pages, there’s a no-code way to do that using an app called Variantify.

It keeps your product structure intact in the back office, all variants stay under the same product, but visually, customers see each variant as its own product card on the storefront.

This can be useful if you just want a cleaner front-end display or better visibility for color or size options without duplicating products.

Third-party apps make it easy to separate variants I own the Stamp – Collection Variants app , and we help merchants display variants separately on the collection page and home page. You can customize the settings per collection to show or hide specific variants, filter variants, or separate them by specific options. For example, you can create a “Gold” collection and display only gold-related variants.
